Bottle Fitment

This mount is built to have a static (not adjustable) diameter mount of 9″. We have tested this mount with the tanks listed to the right. That being said, there may be more tank “brands” out there that use this particular tank. The 10lb FlameKing tanks we have had in the shop have been the same tank. Just a note of clarity, we are not saying this mount will fit all 10LB propane tanks. We can’t know that. We can only say it is built to fit tanks with a diameter of 230mm (9″).

Note: we have had issues in the past where customers have ordered from third parties (ex. Amazon) and they have been sent something other than what was listed on their product pages. We suggest ordering in your tank and verifying it is the proper diameter before placing the order for your tank mount. We are working toward being able to sell the tanks with the mounts, but don’t have that option currently.

Assembly Note

Your bottle mount will ship without the edge trim installed. Install as illustrated here for proper bottle tension. Note: the long trim pieces should start at the very edge of the clamp (near either end). If you don’t start right at the edge, it will be too long by the time you work around the clamp. Can this mount be bottom-mounted?

Yes, it definitely can, but you will need to drill your own holes into the bottom of the mount. The bottom plate is made of the same durable 3mm aluminum as the back panel.

Will this hold a standard BBQ exchange tank (20lb)?

Does the mount come with installation hardware?

he kit includes the mount, stainless steel latch, and edge trim. Vehicle-side mounting hardware is not included because every rack setup is different. We recommend using Zinc-coated (for powder coat finish)or stainless steel (for raw/unfinished) M6 hardware.

How much does the mount weigh?

he mount weighs approximately 1.81 kg [4 lbs]. We use 5052 aluminum to maintain strength while minimizing the parasitic weight added to your overland build.

Which specific propane tanks fit this mount?

This mount is engineered for 10lb propane tanks with a strict 230mm [9"] diameter. If you have questions about a different bottle, please contact us.

Can I mount my propane tank horizontally?

No. Propane tanks should always be transported and stored vertically to prevent liquid propane from entering the valve, which creates a safety hazard. This mount is designed for vertical orientation only.

Will this mount rust or corrode?

No. The body is laser-cut and CNC-formed from 5052 Aluminum, which offers excellent natural corrosion resistance without the heavy weight of steel. The latch is stainless steel. For the longest lifespan, we recommend the Textured Black Powder Coat finish.

Is the mount lockable for security?

Yes. The quick-release stainless steel draw latch is padlock-capable. We also integrated anti-theft flanges that prevent the tank from being slipped out when the latch is locked.
