Keith Schwab –
Hi Folks,
Thanks for fabricating this bracket, very helpful. I wanted to provide some unstallation tips for others. I installed the switch on a 2023 Bronco, Black Diamond 2.3l, manual trans. So I found the bracket to conflict with a hose which connects to the brake fluid reservoir. I didn’t like the idea of the bracket rubbing against the hose for the brake system (seems like an important system 🙂 ). I didn’t install the fuse, so I cut-off the part of the bracket which would hold the fuse, keeping the part of the bracket which holds the switch…easy, now no conflict. Next, the holes in the chassis which the bracket is designed to attach to, have unthreaded nuts welded on the under side, so the provided bolts are too large to go through the holes. I used a 6mm-1mm tap, and threaded the bolts welded on the chassis. Now the provided bolts thread into the bolts, the bracket is held nicely…Bob is your uncle, and it all looks good. I think another way forward would be to use the self-threading 6mm bolts that Ford uses (American Adventure lab…just provide two of these, and no tapping would be necessary).
