Ford Ranger Raptor Trailer Plug Tuck Kit

Move the factory trailer plug out of the low hitch bracket and into the OEM rear bumper.

The Ranger Raptor leaves the factory trailer plug hanging below the hitch, right where it can catch rocks, ledges, ruts, and departure-angle mistakes. One bad hit can damage the plug, bend the bracket, or tear into the wiring.

The American Adventure Lab Trailer Plug Tuck Kit relocates the factory plug into the OEM rear bumper, keeping it higher, cleaner, and better protected without extending the wiring harness.

Select the correct Year Range before ordering. Ford changed the hitch plug slightly for 2026, so the 2026+ kit uses a different cutout than the 2024-2025 kit.

The Problem

The factory Ranger Raptor trailer plug sits too low for trail use.

On non-Raptor Ranger trucks, Ford already places the trailer plug in the bumper. The Ranger Raptor is different: the plug is mounted below the hitch on a low bracket. That location is easy to drag when the rear of the truck comes down on a ledge or drops into a rut.

This kit moves the plug into the bumper where it should have been from the factory. The install uses the supplied template to place the cutout, then the aluminum bezel finishes the opening and secures the plug in its new location.

No wire extension is required. The factory trailer wiring harness is rerouted higher in the bumper and secured with the included zip tie.

Choose the Right Cutout

2024-2025 and 2026+ Ranger Raptor trucks use different plug cutouts.

The kit installs the same way across compatible Ranger Raptor trucks, but the hitch plug changed slightly for 2026. Use the Year Range option above to get the template and bezel cutout that matches your truck.

2024-2025 Ranger Raptor

Select 2024-2025 for the original U.S.-market Ranger Raptor hitch plug. This version uses the original trailer plug cutout and template.

2026+ Ranger Raptor

Select 2026+ for trucks with Ford’s updated hitch plug. This version uses the revised cutout so the plug fits the bumper correctly.

Install Overview

Plan on about 30 minutes with basic shop tools.

The supplied template indexes from the license plate bolts so the cutout lands in the correct bumper location. After the bumper opening is cut, remove the factory low-mounted bracket, reposition the trailer wiring harness, and install the aluminum bezel with the included hardware.

Install Steps

Use the included template to mark the bumper cutout.
Cut the main opening with a hole saw and trim the final shape with a razor knife.
Transfer the mounting holes, then drill them to final size.
Remove the factory low-mounted trailer plug bracket.
Reroute the factory trailer wiring harness higher in the bumper.
Secure the harness and install the bezel with the included hardware.
