When I remember back on the first time we ever visited the Zion National Park area, one of the places that stood out was Toquerville Falls. Based on advice from Jake White, of CartoTracks, we took a ride in our Polaris General out to the falls.
You can check out www.CartoTracks.com to get a very detailed map of Toquerville Falls and other trail systems in the area.
The ride out is pretty mellow and perfectly within the capabilities of moderate ground clearance SUV’s. I would recommend a vehicle with AWD or 4WD due to some of the trail possibly having a loose top layer on some of the inclines. For this trip, we took the new Can-Am Maverick X3 X RC. It makes short work of the long stretches of windy gravel road (careful around the corners, oncoming traffic, and a big drop off). Here is a quick time lapse of the drive to the falls.
As you can see, the views are definitely worth the drive. There aren’t many trails this close to town that have such picturesque landscapes.
Here are a few photos from of new Can-Am Maverick X3 X RC near Rattlesnake Gulch.
The view on the drive home wasn’t bad either.
