Ford Ranger Sidekick Accessory Mount for RAM-style dash gear

The Sidekick Accessory Mount gives 2024-current U.S.-spec Ford Ranger and Ranger Raptor owners a no-drill way to mount phone, GPS, tablet, camera, and comms accessories on the passenger side of the dash.

It installs in the factory dash-top compartment above the glove box and uses existing fastener locations. No drilling. No cutting. No blocking the center screen, passenger vents, glove box, or upper storage bin.

The front flange is pre-threaded for up to four RAM-style M6 ball mounts, so you can build a clean device layout around the gear you actually use: navigation, comms, phones, cameras, or a co-driver tablet.

Why the Sidekick mount exists

Most dash accessory mounts ask Ranger owners to compromise somewhere. They block a vent, crowd the glove box, sit in the way of the passenger, or rely on a universal clamp that was never designed around the 6th-gen Ranger interior.

SAM was built around the Ranger dash itself. The bracket tucks into the passenger-side dash-top compartment, lands on factory fastener locations, and creates a rigid mounting surface without turning the dash into a stack of adapters.

No-drill install, full passenger-side access

Open the glove box, set the Sidekick bracket into the dash-top compartment, and bolt it into the factory holes with the included hardware. The install uses basic hand tools and does not require permanent modification to the dash.

Once installed, the passenger side of the cab stays usable. The glove box still opens, the upper storage compartment remains accessible, and the mount stays low enough to keep the dash from feeling cluttered.

Build the dash around your actual gear

The vertical mounting flange comes pre-tapped for standard RAM-style ball mounts with M6 threads. Start simple with one phone or GPS mount, or use the available positions for a tablet, comms mic, camera, or navigation display.

This is also the foundation for future Sidekick accessories from AAL, including GPS-specific cradles, magnetic trays, and auxiliary switch-panel options. The goal is a modular Ranger dash mount that grows with the truck instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all layout.

The prototype Sidekick Accessory Mount was shared with the Ranger6G community while the design was being dialed in. That feedback helped confirm the important constraints: keep the glove box usable, do not crowd the passenger, do not block the screen or vents, and give Ranger owners enough mounting positions to build around real trail and travel gear.
